Balance System Acupuncture Foundations Equivalency Exams

August 25, 2024

Required for Entry into BSA Cohort 5

BSA Cohort 5 Prerequisites:

A licence to practice acupuncture**Any health care practitioner who is legally able to practice acupuncture in their jurisdiction, with a minimum 250 hours of acupuncture and foundational training.
Completion of BSA Levels 1 and 2 (Balance System Acupuncture Foundations – Level 1: Single Systems + Level 2: Multiple System balancing) through Tan Academy of Balance (in person or webinars).
Completion of BSA Foundations Level 1 and 2 equivalency tests
Written application – deadline to submit July 31, 2024.
Recommended to complete the practical components if not previously completed (included in the in-person BSA Foundations seminars).

Equivalency Test Dates and Fees

BSA Level 1 Equivalency Test:

Sunday, August 25, 2024

Begins 9:00 am Pacific time, online, ~1.5hrs

BSA Level 2 Equivalency Test:

Sunday, August 25, 2024

Begins 11:00 am Pacific time, online, ~1.5hrs

30 minute break between tests

FEE: $300.00 for both tests

Balance System Acupuncture Practitioner (BSAP) Mentorship
Cohort 5 begins

We are excited to begin our next cohort of the Balance System Acupuncture Practitioner (BSAP) mentorship with Level 3: Channel Conversion this September 13 – 15, 2024!

Did you miss the July 31, 2024 application deadline for Cohort 5?

Cohort 6 will run from September 2025, with applications available June 1, 2025.

About the BSAP Mentorship Program:

Based on a long lineage of ancient, authentic teachings of Classical Chinese medicine and applied channel theory, the BSA program brings Acupuncture to life, including all Advanced levels of Balance Acupuncture (3-9) and Grand Rounds classes of cases, adjunct topics, and guest lecturers.

The program dives deep in exploring the advanced Balance Acupuncture strategies to effectively deliver more immediate, lasting results. The program takes the content of the Balance Method as taught by Dr. Richard Teh-fu Tan to Dr. Sonia F. Tan, and incorporates her experience as an academic teacher and clinician of the Balance Method. Evolved teaching method and hands-on demos, case work, feedback mechanisms, adjunct topics and multiple case studies are incorporated into the learning.

Tan Shifu teaches in a clear, systematic way so that students know how to build a treatment plan using the strategies taught.
Teaching Assistants help support throughout the program and provide additional aid.
Customization and refinement – this is the golden nugget for practitioners who have been practicing Balance but haven’t studied with Shifu before. It takes treatments to another level.
There is breathing room in between levels to ensure students really absorb and understand the advanced concepts so they know how to apply them.
Guest speakers and the teaching team provide additional experience to the educational environment.
